  • The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture's annual survey of state-level cropland values and cash rents pegged the average value of U.S. cropland at $4,100 per acre as of January 1, 2014, up 7.6% from a year ago.
  • Cash rents rose an average 3.7% across the U.S., nearly half the pace of land prices. This pushed down average rent income yields to 3.4% from 3.6% a year ago.
