Michael FritzMichael Fritz is the Editor and Publisher of Farmland Investor Letter, a Monona, Wis.-based investment letter that tracks changes in farmland values and lease rates, trends in rental agreements, analysis of buyer and seller demand, and the impact of government farm programs on crop returns and land values. Farmland Investor Letter employs a global perspective – monitoring the impact of interest rates, currency rates, and international trade on farm commodity prices and their influence on land values. Mr. Fritz was raised on a cash grain and beef feedlot farm in northern Illinois. He holds a BS in agronomy from Purdue University and has been an active investor in agricultural real estate since 1991. Principals of Mercator Research, LLC own farmland in Ill., Ind., Fla. and Wis. Prior to launching Farmland Investor Letter in 2004, Mr. Fritz served as an Associate Editor at Crain’s Chicago Business, where he oversaw coverage of the regions’ futures, options and stock exchanges, and money management and insurance industries. Mr. Fritz has also served as a Staff Writer at Forbes magazine in New York, where he covered mutual fund investing and business strategy. |
